Pastor Terry Fox and Summit Church are pleased to announce that Pastor Joe Wright and the Downtown Church are merging with the Summit Church congregation. Pastor Terry Fox has asked Pastor Joe Wright to move from associate pastor to being co-pastor, which he has accepted. This is incredibly exciting!! These two pastors have worked side by side for many years and are very excited about the future of Summit Church. We will start a new schedule this coming Sunday, June 18th. The 8:30 service will be moved to 9:30 and Pastor Terry will be preaching in that service. Pastor Joe Wright will be preaching in the 11:00 service. There will be dynamic music and praise teams in both services. Our current adult Bible study classes will be moved to 10:45. (We will also be adding new adult Bible study classes at 9:30 in the very near future.) The Children’s Ministry schedule will remain the same. For children arriving early, their departments will be open and staff will be on hand and have fun activities for them, until their 10:00 Bible study begins. Children’s Worship will be at 11:00.
Join us this Sunday morning for our new 9:30 service and join us in praying for our services this Sunday!
Attached is the link to a video where Pastor Terry explains the new schedule.
This past Sunday was truly a historic day in the life of Summit Church Kansas. This was our first service since our merger with Pastor Joe’s congregation from his downtown ministry. We had great attendance and offerings in both worship services! There was an excitement and a spirit of unity as we became one large church family. We’re looking forward to expanding some current ministries and starting some new ministries in the near future.
NEW WORSHIP SCHEDULE IS UNDERWAY
The 8:30 service has been moved to 9:30 and Pastor Terry Fox is preaching in that service. Pastor Joe Wright preaches in the 11:00 service. Our current adult Bible study classes (which Keith Martin and Gary Crouse teach) have been moved to 10:45. The youth will also meet at 10:45 am. Beginning this Sunday, June 25th, we will offer two adult Bible studies at 9:30 am: David McMullin will be teaching on the Book of Esther. His class will meet in our new large classroom on the east hall—look for the balloons outside the door. Joan Hearne will be teaching a class entitled Who Are You In Christ? It is a six week study on understanding your walk in the positional authority of the believer. Her class will meet in the Breezeway room. The Nursery and Children’s Departments will have programming and activities during all service times.
Many in our church family will be taking vacations and traveling this summer. We want to remind you that you can give your tithes and offerings online at summitchurchkansas.com or by mailing them to Summit Church, 10225 East Kellogg, Wichita, KS 67207. We want to keep our budget strong so that we can meet all of our ministry needs throughout the summer.
Hey everyone, we have exciting news to share! Summit Church in Wichita Kansas Plants New Church in Corpus Christi, TX!
After much prayer and leadership from the Holy Spirit and with affirmation from the pastoral staff and church leadership, we believe that God has assigned us the task of planting a new church in Corpus Christi, TX. As many of you may know, I pastored there for almost ten years before coming to Wichita twenty years ago. Many people in Corpus believe that there is a need for a Summit satellite/mission church to be developed in that city. I will be the Senior Pastor of both locations and we will be live-streaming our Summit Worship Service to Corpus each Sunday. I will be spending time helping to build the ministry in Corpus and will be preaching there most Wednesday nights. We will live-stream my Wednesday night message back to the Summit campus and offer it as one of our options for one of our Summit Connection Night classes. We have asked Pastor Pat Bullock, who recently moved back to Corpus to serve as one of our Associate Pastors and to help get the church started. Pastor Bobby Graham, who was my Associate Pastor for many years in Corpus, will serve as the Campus Pastor. We are still deciding on a name and a location for the new church plant. I have been thrilled with the excitement and encouragement from our Summit Church family. We, as the Summit Church family, will have many opportunities to partner and minister with our new congregation in Corpus. I am glad to be Senior Pastor where the church takes seriously The Great Commission and is determined to be an Acts 1:8 church. We have exciting times ahead! Contact us if you are interested in serving with us in this new ministry. http://www.summitchurchkansas.com/contact-us/ or call me at 316-641-8832.
Blessings! Pastor Terry Fox
